I've just been watching a documentary on Marco Van Basten & it reminded how amazing he was back then. I'll never forget that goal in the 88 Euro Final. Got me thinking who was the best striker of the past 20 years - which means players like Zidane & Maradona don't count

Seeing as I was only born in 1986 I haven't seen much of some of the earlier names. But Thierry Henry is probably the only footballer today along with Ronaldinho who just has the capacity to amaze at any moment, so my vote goes to him.

Roberto Baggio, who should've been in this poll well ahead of some of the other options there. Baggio was not only a prolific goal scorer but an inspirational leader and playmaker as well. He was capable of scoring goals at all levels (league, European, international, etc.) and is one of the few players who has found the net more than 200 times in Serie A.

I meant to put him in, but my memory is like a sieve

Henry? His record for France is hardly that spectacular.

For me there's not much to choose between Ronaldo and Van Basten.
