So which was the best? For me it was Empire Strikes Back, mainly for the battle on the Ice Planet of Hoth. 'Impreial troops have entered the base, repeat, imperial troops have entered the base.'

When I was younger I was slightly mad about Star Wars and have a slightly sad gift of being able to quote the original triology in its entirity.

I also have every single one of the original figurines including some limited edition US ones and every vehicle. Probably worth something now but all stored away in the loft.

My prize Star Wars possession is a poster advertising 'Revenge of the Jedi' which was the original title for 'Return of the Jedi' but was scrapped after release in Japan because it was deemed a non Jedi trait.

Anyhow...which was your favourite?

Empire for me - much darker than the others, the bad guys win and we get one of the best plot twists of all time "No, I am your father"....

I still hold out a little hope for Episode 3, although I've been very underwhelmed by the Prequels so far.

'Empire' all the way.

The thing that pissed me off more than anything else EVER was when the new edition of ROTJ came out and they had changed the music at the party at the Ewok village.

Disgraceful.

P.S. That's worth a lot of money, as they were meant to have all been destroyed after GL changed the title (for the reason you have stated above).

See this likn for one on sale on ebay

Empire,

I remember as a kid hearing the rumours about Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader before the film came out.

"He's Luke Dad"

"f*** off"

"No he is, my brother saw it in America"

And he was right too.

The original Ewok music was the best!

"Yub Nub, didi di shoooway, do bo bo bidi do, do do do do do do, YUB NUB"

It was also crap because they had the rest of the galaxy celebrating about half an hour after they won even though there was still huge garrisons of troops on those planets.

Also, why when the rebels blow up the death star does the Imperial Fleet not just still whipe them out? Admiral Akbar says 'We wont last long against those Sar Destroyers'...Lando says 'We'l last longer then we will against that Death Star'. So surely the Star Destroyers should still have won?

there is a possible explaination that came from one of the books (possible expanded universe stuff though), which says that the Emperor was so powerful that he was able to exert a level of control and coordination over his entire fleet using the force; once he was killed this fell away and the Imperial fleet was quickly destroyed.

It would make sense.

I always found the books a bit crap to be honest. I know it went on that the fleet was leaderless, but the rebels had hardly any ships and were hugely outnumbered. I think the books decided they would throw in that story line because everyone questioned the ending.

Star Wars quiz: Who was the only non major character to appear in every film?

Wedge Antillies, as played by Dennis Lawson - the Uncle of Ewan McGregor who plays Obi-Wan Kenobi in the new trilogy.

(If you're just referring to the original trilogy)

Empire Strikes Back - awesome, dark, qualified the first.
A new hope - Awesome, original.
ROTJ - Spoiled by the Ewoks.
Phantom Menace - Spoiled by that f***ing annoying CGI lanky alien.
Attack of the clones - Spoiled by CGI.

Does anyone remember the first 'sit down' Star Wars game? I was just about to blow up the death star by firing down the 'exhaust' pipe when Obi Won Kenobi said; "Let go Luke, let go.......

So I did & the fucker crashed! I went stomping up West St well pissed off.

return of the jedi as well - darth vader, portrayed as the evil, selfish man, and he changes and throws the emperor over, then dies, has his helmet removed - 'let me see you with my own eyes'. bloody fantastic. i almost burst into tears when hes burnt the first time i saw it

When the ghost of Anakin Skywalker joins Yoda and Obi Wan and waves to Luke was superb. Cue an enormous sense of well being.

Qutie suprised that Return of the Jedi is doing so badly, the bit where Darth throws the Emporer to his death is brilliant as it's the first time in the trilogy where good defeats evil. And as for the Ewoks, I think they are quality, it is a kids film after all.
