The Guardian has asked 49 musos what their favourite osbscure album is (some of haven't really grasped the concept of obscure and named people like Leonard Cohen and Simple Minds, but we'll let that pass).

Got me thinking as what album I'd name that's pop/rock's best-kept secret.

For me it's a toss-up between David Ackles' American Gothic and Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane over the Sea.

Tough call though

The Cult by The Cult (1994), critically acclaimed by the press but overlooked the general public. Another one Temple Of The Dog, supergroup consisting of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

Adding to that have you got Mother Love Bone or any Screaming Trees?

MLB yes, Screaming Trees no. Indeed I'll admit I've not heard of them, even though I guess this is not a good thing to say ;)

The Chameleons, " Script of the Bridge" and their 2nd classic, "What does anything mean basically?"
They should have been massive. One of life's great injustices.

Fire Engines - Lubricate your living room

Good album - I saw them live and they sucked big time.
