SSN keep on how fantastic Rooneys goal was (and it was a great goal) but was it the best goal of the day?

Scott Murray's effort for Brizzle wasn't bad either. (Just seen it on Sky)

Nugent's was a very good effort, but massively helped by shite defending, like that really overrated Ricky Villa Cup Final goal when all the Manchester City players jumped out of the way or let him run past/through them. Extra points for the opposition though, clearly.

A couple of Blackburn's goals were very good, notably Pedersen's and Derbyshire's first - but I'd go Rooney 1st and Sinclair 2nd.

Rooney.

The reason why it gets my vote, is because you see strikers trying to blast into the net all the time - but that finesse applied was not routine, and very nicely disguised too - against a top keeper who knows him as well.

I look forward to seeing Michael Owen playing again, as he is one who knows to go for less obvious choices.

That end-to-end run was brilliant, he had no-one with him to pass to, and rather than wait, he went all the way on his own. Great stuff, a close 2nd to Rooney's.

If it had been off Nugent's arse from two yards, BUT had knocked out Palace, it still would have got my vote.

If Nugent had scored Rooneys goal and visa versa all the hype would still be about rooney!

nugents hands down although the defenders did make it look a hell of a lot better. and dont even suggest scott murrey's goal him just swung his weak foot at the ball and it just happened to go in complete fluke
