With all the embarrassing manufactured trash in the charts, any decent cover versions out there?

I nominate Johnny Cash's version of 'Hurt' by Nine Inch Nails

Definitely NOT Stand By Me by John Lennon... as much as I like Lennon, that version is shite. :censored:

Best cover IMO: Don't Leave Me This Way by Thelma Houston... also the Communards version was pretty good as far as 80s tunes go.

I heard Celine Dions cover of Roy Orbisons "I drove all night" earlier on a TV ad - that was pretty cool.

So I visited Kazaa & downloaded her version + a Cyndi Lauper v's Roy Orbison version.

Great covers IMHO.

Handbags and the Gladrags - Kelly Jones outdoes Rod, however the best cover might have to be David Watts by The Jam, a far superior version than The Kinks original.

Also, The Stranglers version of Walk On By is quality.

Paul Young - Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)

Other than The Stranglers' Walk on By, that is.

Rolf Harris - Stairway to Heaven? (No, honest, I'm joking now!)
