How's about a benefit gig like the one for the Forty Notes Fund. There must be plenty of bands that would be willing to get involved and enough promoters around to get this done? I know the boys from Sam and Me would be up for i for starters.

Al? Atilla??

I know a band who may be able to help out, but they're Punk/Rock Chappers so you might not like it ;)

Either way if this gets off the ground I'll ask 'em.

Do we not have an insider at the Racecourse that could help us to hold this event?

Excellent idea. Get all the good Sussex bands together or with a Sussex connection for a ARTISTS FOR THE ALBION gig.

Fat Boy Slim
Keane
British Sea Power
Peter and the Test Tube Babies
Midfield General

Any others?

The Forty Notes Fund is currently actively looking to do another gig around Christmas time. However, nothing concrete has been planned yet, and it may be that any gig can be brought forward.

Also, just because the Forty Notes people (ostensibly, in this instance, myself and Doug Clarke) may organise it, it doesn't follow that the money is then ring-fenced for Mark McGhee's playing squad. There is no reason why it cannot go straight into this fighting fund.

Watch this space.
