New Stockport owner Brian Kennedy has rejected Sheffield Wednesday's bid for striker Luke Beckett.

Wednesday boss Chris Turner confirmed an offer of £250,000 had been tabled by chairman Dave Allen over the weekend.

But Kennedy, who has recently taken control at Edgeley Park, told the Hatters' official website Beckett was going nowhere.

"We are absolutely not going to sell Luke Beckett and have told him so," he said.

"He is happy at County and has two years remaining on his contract."

Good on Stockport.
I like to see clubs hanging onto their players when they are wanted AND under contract.

Also, would have been a great signing for Weds, and it much funnier to see them languish down in Div 2 for a couple of seasons.
