BBC Southern Counties to cover Lewes District Council's spending on Inquiry

I understand that SCR are planning to feature the plans for Lewes District Council to spend £35,000 on fighting the stadium on the Wednesday breakfast show. The news reader Simon Jenkins is thought to be sympathetic to the Albion and hopefully will do his best to ensure that our side of the story comes out, but being the BBC they will no doubt have to hear both sides.

Perhaps some phone calls or e mails into the show would be an idea after they run the piece?

yes but that could be anytime from 6am to 9 am and work calls

Let's hope Rebecca Drought has no part in the report. Although her producer gave a predictable reply, backing her after the criticism of her, I've heard little of her in recent times. Has she been shunted sideways after her embarrassing cock up when the inquiry outcome was made public? Anyone know?

Sadly not. As was pointed out on here last week, BBC Southern Counties' own in-house NIMBY was apparently spinning away in her "coverage" of the seafront march...there was a thread on here at the time.

I listened to the 7am news on SCR this morning and they had some pratt from Lewes DC saying that they had every right to be against the plan saying that they believed it to be an area of outstanding natural beauty (not that old one). Plus they said that a new body (something like Lewes Falmer For All Group) had been set up to fight LDC's objections and to complain about the money spent. The spokesman then compared Falmer to Iraq (no, they really did) saying that they were always prepared to fight unjust causes.

All I can say is that their air was blue in my car this morning.

LDC have got nothing new to add - keep up the good work - we have them on the run
