He couldn't stop praising our young sprinter, very un-american, and all the better for it.

I reckon Michael Johnson is one of the best pundits that the Beeb use. Knowledgeable, intelligent, articulate and supportive of the Brits without being overly so just because he's on a British TV channel. I remember Sue Barker (I think) put him on the spot once by asking somewhat tongue-in-cheek whether as an American he'd be cheering on the US athlete against one of our top stars and he very diplomatically replied "I'm a citizen of the world" - the guy could be a foreign diplomat.

It is all so knowing though. Talk about a hackneyed shot - like the supporter in tears - except these are media professionals who know exactly where the cameras are are when they are running.

On the track he seemed to have a touch of arrogance about him but as a pundit he is a revelation, genuine nice bloke .

That's the magic formula that people with true ability and class have in abundance-like myself..

Ever since he hung up his gold running shoes, he has seemed anglised, and a great coup of the BBC to have had him for so many years.

Intelligent, clear narrative, unbiased, and a world class winner.

I'm pretty sure you can hear that he is cheering on the American who came second, Rupp. But still he is one of the best pundits the BBC have.

Hate all this crap. It's such a presenter love-in, in the style of the Match of the Day Old Boys Club. Who gives a f*** what Denise Lewis was doing when Mo Farah won. SO SO dull.
