As has been reported elsewhere, from outside the perimeter fence, it is increasingly difficult to video something that you haven’t all seen before up at the greatest building site in Sussex.

So this month, in a further attempt to do something original, it’s an opportunity for fans to tell us how they feel about The Amex.

Thank you very much to all those who agreed to take part, especially my “special guests” and those slightly reluctant participants who let me talk them into going on camera.

To the best of my knowledge there are not many people on the video from northstandchat.
(I-Spy points available for spotting Jack Straw, lasvegan and Alan Duffy's Sideburns)

So its good to welcome plenty of people from the outside world and to introduce them to Adrian’s excellent website. I gave them all a leafllet with the website url, so hopefully they will check in there soon.

I hope you enjoy the video.

Brilliant Nigel - a timely reminder that this is so much more than a beautiful £93m building. Nowhere else will capture the spirit of Sussex and its people as much as this place.

Brought a tear to my eye. Fantastic video.

Anyone know if Andy Rollings still runs the Rotunda Cafe in Preston Park? It looked like the park in the background in his interview.

:amex:

She says that he is a very pleasent chap

Does he shut the cafe when she wants a "cream horn" :lolol:

I'm glad it has been so popular, even though the youtube count has stuck at 308 so I don't really know quite how popular.

The object of the exercise was to capture what the new stadium means to a really wide range of Albion fans and it was great to listen to the enthusiasm of the youngsters and that of the older generation.

Like young Paul, the one who's Mum Jackie, who pokes him to speak.
He said afterwards that he would be able to show this video to his kids in the future, "when the stadium is old" to show them that he was here when it was being built. Paul was only about 8 or 9. What a star!

And it was brilliant to be able to meet and chat to those like Alan from Didcot, and particularly Stan Phillips from Berwick who has been watching the Albion since 1946 and is not well enough to go and watch at Withdean. If you think you will have a tear in your eye on August 6th, you want to speak to this fella.

There is a non stop stream of people turning up to look through those little viewing holes every week. I was there Saturday and Sunday this week and as well as Albion fans of course, there were fans from other clubs including Swindon, Bristol, Southampton, and Yeovil of course, all coming to see the most incredible stadium taking shape.

There ought to be more for these people to see when they go up there. Maybe laminated stadium plans and descriptions of the innovative development mounted on the blue hoarding. We ought to be doing more for these people. They are so keen to know what's going on?

As they say in the original Field Of Dreams,
"If you build it, people will come, they will most definately come"
.......and they do

Great job. Good to see so many ordinary supporters of all ages who clearly love their club finally seeing their dream come true after such a long and frustrating wait.
