Adam El-Abd. His long Albion career could be coming to an end.
* Albion stalwart Adam El-Abd is a target for Championship rivals Barnsley.
* The long-serving defender has had talks with Barnsley boss David Flitcroft over a possible move to Oakwell.
* Flitcroft told the Sheffield Telegraph: "We met with Adam and we've spoken to him about him signing for us.
* "We've showed him what we're trying to do at the club, and he's a player I've liked for a long time.
* "I played against him for Rochdale and he's a player with good pedigree.
* "There are changes at Brighton at the moment, so we'll have to see whether a deal can be done."
* El-Abd was offered a new one-year deal by Albion at the end of the season but has yet to put pen to paper.
* He is a big admirer of the Seagulls' sacked manager Gus Poyet and credits the Uruguayan with improving him as a player.
* El-Abd, 28, featured 34 times for Albion last season. He has made more than 300 appearances in total for the club since coming through the youth ranks to make his debut in 2003.
