Anyone who thought cheese already had a perfectly enjoyable flavour may have to think again.

Because cheese flavoured with the taste of Britain's favourite takeaway is reportedly about to hit the shops.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, scientists have spent months developing a tandoori flavoured cheddar for Tesco.

If it does well with cheese lovers, they are planning to bring out an array of cheddars based on the British takeaway menu.

The supermarket chain hopes to capture the country's millions of takeaway eaters into the cheese market.

Fish and chips, and Thai- and Chinese-based flavours are next on the list.

Although Tesco already sells some flavoured cheese, such as stilton with mango and ginger, this could be one of the first attempts to get the humble cheddar tasting of a different dish entirely.

Top chefs are said to be horrified at the development, with the general consensus that cheese should be left well alone, save for a little pickle on top.

The new tandoori flavoured cheddar will be on the shelves of 200 Tesco supermarkets by the end of the month.

Tandoori Cheese??!

Yuk!

Anyone remember Hedgehog crisps? Circa 1982?

I had a packet - on the back it said that the taste was perfected by people who'd eaten Hedgehogs??! I know that pikies do but I don't know any Palace fans to ask.

Had a lovely bit of brie today for me lunch. Sainos kicks ass.
Lovely bit of Parma ham from the deli and brie with salad and a lovely bit of french bread, perfection.

Don't be too hasty. I thought that Sausage & Tomato crisps sounded revolting until I opened a packet and had a taste of heaven.

Leave our cheese alone. Although Huss flavoured cheddar has a ring to it. :p

Being such a cheese lover, I don't think I fancy chicken korma chedder cheese.
