Reading a lot of reports and comments from experienced football commentators and ex-players asking “should Rice have been sent off (for nicking the ball away)?”
This is absolutely not the he issue. The correct question is “should he have been booked?”
Not one of them has (yet) dared to say no……which is telling because what is hey are really suggesting is that he should have been let off (by implication) because he’s a “star” player

Not at game today.
Listened to bbc Sussex with Johnny and Warren.
Quite like the radio, improves your imagination.
Highlights over 90 mins.
1 Saka goes down easy.
2 Arsenal fans shock, horror, because not guaranteed 3 points at 60 mins.
3 Arteta staring at the ground with arms folded at 90 mins.
Correct?
After his initial 25min cameo Saka more or less disappeared from the game

The booing for Van Hecke started after he went down after a challenge, did a little bit of writhing, and then got up again ( realising he wasn't going to get a free kick, obviously our players don't do that sort of thing but Arsenal fans see to think we do)

Nope, that game was there to be won.

I know where we are now is very different to being where we’ve been in the past, but we’re not in League One any more. We’re near the top of the Premier League on merit, and when opportunities like having a man advantage come along, we need to take them.

That game had chances for both teams to win it. I’m glad they missed theirs, but I’m a bit annoyed that we missed ours. I have no doubt that this will come across as “entitled” to some, but if we want European football again, these are the teams we’re competing with, not Walsall.
Based on the highlights we openly had one shot 😂

Ayari had a great chance to pop the winner in, I don’t know if it’s shown on the highlights, I haven’t seen them.

Unfortunately the shot went back across goal toward Raya, rather than to the opposite post. I like Ayari, he gets in good positions and his shots aren’t wild. Those are going to start going in at some point.

Was only able to listen today. This may have been mentioned elsewhere in the thread but, at the time, Sam Matterface and Stuart Pearce both agree it was a booking and therefore a dismissal - albeit a stupid one.

That 'challenge' was Havertz leaving his foot in. Their spat continued after and there was another coming together in their penalty area. Wellbeck confronted Havertz when running back and got a talking to from the ref. Havertz is a nasty player.

Actually, very pleased to get a point away from home at one of the teams likely to finish in the top two this year. 'Disappointing' is watching your team at home in an open air 7000 max stadium losing to 9 man Walsall! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
God I remember that like it was yesterday ☹️🤣

I thought it strange they did not replay that incident again??

These aren't the players you're looking for.

I suspect that Ayari is only a place holder.

Those shots will start going in as soon as it's Matt O'Riley taking them.

That's because Arsenal didn't win..if they did it would have been on first followed by a pundit wankfest about "the Gunners"

That is exactly correct.

If they’d won, they’d have been first …. followed by “Let’s see how title rivals ManC got on at West Ham”.
