The aurgus reported today that Coppell has definately signed for Reading and we will get £230k compensation.

Andy naylor in his article mentioned something along the lines of .....would you go to a club like Reading, big stadium, first division, got money, or stay with a club bumbling along....

Now forgive me if I am wrong, but we are hardly "bumbling along". Top of the division, two championships in three years and within a whisker or remaining in the first division after a horrendous opening run of 12 games beaten.

WHO THE f*** DOES ANDY NAYLOR THINK HE IS RUBBISHING OUR CLUB.

I think we should start a NAYLOR OUT campaign.

Secondly, Coppell is said to have used the exceuse about the uncertainty over the stadium as a reason to go. So he didn't know about this when he joined us, or when he f***ed us about in the summer ?

I SAY GOOD RIDDANCE YOU PALACE SCUM

here here. Naylor shouldn't be writing about Brighton, he doesn't liek the club and doesn't care about the club so should be kept well away form the club.

And as for Coppout, good ridance, if he'd stayed he would always have a question mark over his head.

I hate to defend Naylor but there is no requirement for someone to like a club in order to write about them. The worst articles are often written by fan types.

Having said that, he's out of order on this one, I'd suggest there are 23 other clubs in the 2nd Division who would swap places with us right now.

It's clear Naylor doesn't like BHA. However, that should not be an excuse for shoddy, cheap journalism.

I use the root 'journalist' very loosely, as Naylor is not a journalist, he is a reporter. There is a big difference. You have to get the relevant qualifications to be a journalist, and the Argus employs precisely none. They are all reporters. And fourth-rate cliche-driven ones at that.

Newsquest - The Argus parent company - rarely care which team their reporters support. And, in a perverse and provincial Framley Examiner sort of way, probably relish the "slant" that a Sjoke supporter (say) could bring to the sports pages. That this completely contradicts any so-called campaigning for the Albion is an irony completely lost in Deepest Hollingbury.

It might be better if they ran an "Argus Isn't Campaigning For the Albion" campaign. Because we might get some sensible reporting....

Good to see the Argus are as hopelessly out of touch with its readership as ever. It's been done to death on this board but you'd expect a local paper's sports hack to adopt a similar position to its fans - slagging them when they're crap, lauding them when they're not. Simple really.

Trouble with the distant Naylor is that what he sees as him being a tough journo telling it like it is comes across as rubbing people's noses in it when things are bad, as at present.

And being perceived to be doing that when it's something that people feel passionately about is a very bad idea.

I don't want him to be a "supporter" of the club but I want him to supportive of what the club is trying to achieve.

And for all vinncombe's fault, he never came across as an arrogant "knows best" twat like naylor
