Anyone owned a spud gun?

Sekidens were brilliant for rate of fire but I thought that the pellets were a tad misshapen sometimes leading to inaccuracy as they swerved away from the intended target. Trouble was, a packet of pellets never lasted long and packets of dried peas had such variation in size as to render them even more inaccurate.

I had one of these... then as a fully grown adult, I went back to my childhood by building a collection of Airsoft guns (BB guns with attitude) which I shoot regularly. Far more painful that being hit by a lump of potato.

i used to climb behind the advertising boarding at the bridge at haywards heath station and spend many a happy hour with my p shooter

You can still get Spud guns.

I bet you used to spend hours outside the station too with Mr Making Farty Noises with my Hand man!

I think I know exactly who you are talking about, Jonathan B, Pompey fan and all round wrong un.

Mine was a Lone Star Spudmatic

My brother and I had that style of spud gun, only in bronze colour. We had, ooh, a good 10-15 minutes fun with them before realising the accuracy sucked unless you were half an inch away from your adversary.
