Yes I have had the same problem, my bank never recived the direct debit mandate from the club so declined EVERY payment sofar, have to give 3 payments in one go in the next few days. Im still not sure if the mandate has been sent, so my bank will just continue declining the payments. NIGHTMARE

Is this maybe as a result of some of the flakey original direct debit application forms that had to be reprinted being inadvertently forwarded to the banks?

ahhh....so im not the only one!! i had a letter from the club the other day saying i needed to pay the outstanding balance within 5 days of the first home game! And the reason they gave me was "NO INSTRUCTION" so that would tally with everyone else's problems!

I think they only way this can be resolved is signing a new direct debit form, I said this to the club but they just kinda fobbed me off and said they will look into it and get back to me. This was a week ago and im still waiting and no payments have been taken.

I had exactly this just this week and was straight on the phone to my bank who confirmed the DD was set up just fine and had been taken this month without problem.

When I spoke to the ticket office they said it was an automatically generated letter that should never have been sent. I bloody hope so because I'm not giving up my seat for ANYONE

I had a nightmare.

I received my sons confirmation through the post but not mine, i also got one addressed to someone else at my address!!!

My son's DD set up fine but no payment was taken for my ST, when I called the bank and club they dont even see a DD set up for mine. They also had 2 other ST holders registered at my address. Think its gonna take a while to sort this out....but as long as I got my seat i'm happy

with 18,500 or thereabouts STH's, the vast majority on monthly DD's, there are going to be errors. Hopefully the club's new-found professionalism will prevent it from escalating into a problem for those affected but if anyone has concerns it is always worth making sure that the club knows about the problem and that it is at their end! Think I'd check with my bank for what they need then send the club an e-mail or a letter detailing the solution and asking them to action it before next month's payment is due.

They've messed mine up too.
I phoned them last month to tell them they hadn't taken the 1st payment (April) and so paid it over the phone by credit card.
This month I get the letter - which I think is rather harshly worded - telling me to cough up the whole amount before the 1st game.
It's understandable that there are going to be a few mistakes when selling 18,000 seaon tickets but I thought that the letter was bang out of order considering its the clubs balls up.

if you ask your bank they will see the club attempted to take payment without the DD being setup.

What they have clearly done with me is set up one direct debit for the first payment in mid April and a second one for the following payments on 1st of each month. They didn't take the initial payment in mid April but have taken the first of the payments on the 1st of each month. They then contacted me to say could I pay the first payment separately which I did. They then sent me a letter yesterday to say they'd tried to take a payment which had been declined because the direct debit had not been set up. I rang them pointing out that all payments to date due had been taken which they agreed was the case and told me to ignore the letter. I know what's gonna happen, they'll try again next month and the same thing will happen. As I understand it as the direct debit for mid month isn't actually set up, they can keep doing this but I won't get charged so they are just wasting my time and theirs.

I totally agree the wording was pretty much along the lines of pay us now (or within 5 days of the first game of the season) or we will cancel your smart card and you WONT be able to enter the stadium...... WELL Durr take my freakin money, I have been telling you to take it, I have signed DD mandates I have the cash in my bank, just take my money.

I had 3 DDs setup on my account when it should only have been two (me and my son).

Then a letter sent to my name/address regarding the third DD with a strangers details (included name, address, bank account and sort code number). I had to send that erroneous letter back to club staff as they wanted to see it.

All this after an over-charge on my original deposits as well (which took a heck of a lot of chasing on my behalf to sort out re-imbursement).

Received exactly the same letter yesterday. Phoned the office and a very nice and helpful young lady told me it was something to do with the first payment being requested BEFORE my dd had been set up. She told me I could pay the missing installment in my own time, whenever and was very helpful indeed.

As others have said, though I think the wording of the letter is a bit harsh to be honest - especially as not the fault of the supporter.

They charged me full price rather than the old fart's price, but an email to the club soon got it sorted out, a new payment schedule and an apology.

Those guys must be inundated with work and queries, no wonder there's a few cock-ups. Overall they do a great job :clap2:

Yep.

In error I was charged the teenagers rate (which is double) in error, for the 1st two Falmer DD's, for my 8-year-old.
I spotted it and the Club admits it's their mistake.

I will get it back eventully, apparently, according to helpful girl on the phone.
By reducing the remaining DD's evenly.
