I'm probably booking up this week and need an idea of what to do etc. So...

??? Any places that MUST be visited?

??? Any clubs recommended (for 18 year olds)?

Thanks in advance.

I've read up about it. Two years ago I had an easyjet flight booked to Trieste and was going on to 'Llubbly Jubbly' - as apparently it's amusingly (not) dubbed. But a dislocated shoulder put paid to that trip and the flights. Hope to make it one day, it's supposed to be a good city, and the countryside and lakes are like Switzerland only about a fifth the price.

I was there about six years ago: great city. Decent beer (although not as good as Prague's), decent food and really friendly people. Nice architecture too.

I don't know about clubs though, not places that 40-something's go to...I did go to the opera while I was there though :) If you want a lively clubbing place in eastern Europe, Belgrade's pretty good.

I also went for a sauna in the centre of town and was a bit taken aback when I realised that all the clients wore no clothes. I gather this is quite common on mainland Europe but it was a shock for us repressed Brits.

I highly recommend the place.I'd go back again.

I know what you mean Gwylan.

I just had this vision of repressed Brits sitting in a sauna fully clothed! (Business suits etc) :lolol: :lolol:

Thanks. Think I'll give it a go. Sauna sounds interesting... :)

I drove past it once in the commie days of Tito, when I were just a nipper. My dad decided to stop and take photographs in a disused naval base around that way somewhere. There were big signs on the wall with cameras with a big red line through them. I never thought I'd get home again. Scared stiff I was. You might want to avoid that place if it is still there.
