Got a business trip in February, just after Tet to Da Nang and Hanoi, want to combine it with a bit of site seeing and some quality beachtime. Never been there, anyone got any good good reviews, I will need a hotel in Hanoi.

cheers,

I live in Hanoi. Unfortunately, you're coming at the wrong time of year! Hanoi in Feb is grey and cold. Still worth taking a trip to Halong Bay though which you can easily arrange when you get here.

From Danang, there is a nice little town with a good beach about 45 minutes away- Hoi An. Well worth a few days, but again the weather might not be great. For guaranteed sunshine you'll need to head further south (Nha Trang, Mui Ne or Phu Quoc maybe.)

PM me if you want some more info.

Went there about a year ago. Fantastic place. Ha Long Bay is amazing, although is in danger of being ruined if they don't start restricting the number of boats and clearing up some of the rubbish. Well worth a visit though.

Careful crossing the roads as you will find out? No Green Cross Code there. Took a trip to Dien Bien Phu (French/Vietnamese battle 1954) if you like history. 20 hours by car or 1 hour by plane.

Crossing the roads there is easy, you just walk purposefully across and the bikes steer around you. If you wait for a gap you'll never get across.

Hoi An is definitely worth a 2-3 days visit to chill-out if you have the time. Beautiful, laid back, little town by a river, and with a great tourist colonial-style bar and restaurant -Tam Tam Bar.
Hoi An also has a quiet, unspoilt, beach, with crystal clear water, a cheap 5 minute taxi ride away.
There are also loads of tailors if you want to get some clothes made; they will make things in a day or so, and even deliver to your hotel.

Yes, just step off the kerb and walk steadily across, and the traffic weaves round you. You'll only get run over if you stop, or start running!
Wait for a gap in the traffic, and you'll still be stood there next Easter!!!
