Anybody stopping off to see the rugby on the way to Notts County?

Kick off is 9am so there won't be time to watch it and then leave Brighton to get to Notts County in time for kick off (some would say this is a good thing!) Does anyone know anywhere on the way that will be showing the game? Maybe the services on the M40 at the A40 Junction? (can't remember what the place is called)

Nope, wild horses wouldn't drag me to Notts County instead of the rugby. Albion take 2nd place for me this w/e.

I'm staying in the Nottingham/Derby area for a couple of days so it'll be an early breakfast, off to a pub for the rugby, meet some stripes near the county ground and all the while my car will be safely parked up until Sunday morning.

Wahay!

I'm thinking of leaving Eastbourne at 7am and getting to Watford for about 8.45 and popping into a pub there to catch it.

Maybe Watford O will be there and I can buy him a pint.

This is taken from Brightonfans.com

''I have had a wonderful conversation with a gentleman called Gary the other morning.
He is landlord of a pub in Harpole, Northamptonshire, which is only 1 mile off the M1.
It would mean leaving Sussex just after seven in the morning, but..........
He has got the Rugby Final on a 42 inch screen TV in there, and if England are in the final has promised cooked breakfasts for all of us to boot!
He is a smashing bloke and said he would welcome us for the morning ''

As I'm staying at Melton Mowbray it's an early train to Leicester; taxi to Welford Rd (Leicester Tigers) at 8 am followed by the 12.00 train from Leicester to Nottingham - should be a long (and hopefully happy) day.

I might get up early to watch the game in Notts...anyone know anywhere up there showing it?

The ONLY place to watch the rugby if you are Notts on the Saturday morning is the Walkabout.

Indeed although i've got a bad feeling that it might be tickets only in there because it WILL be rammed, get there at least an hour before kick off, if not more.

Are you going to find out?

I don't want to end up on the streets with nowhere to go...

Here is what we are doing............

leaving Sussex at 7 am.

Heading for........

The Bull Inn
High Street
Harpole
Northamptonshire

(Exit M1 at Junction 16 to Northamton. Take the A45 for a about three quarters of a mile, and turn left to Harpole on the Northampton road just after The Beefeater, left again very soon into The High Street (Harpole) and the Bull is quarter of a mile up on the left)

Total distance form M1 - 1.2 miles!

The landlord Gary is expecting a few Albion fans for the rugby and is even laying on cooked breakfasts!

it is then only an hour to Nottingham tops, and that leaves....

Plenty of time for The Trip To Jerusalem and Hooters before the game.

COME ON THE BIG WIN DOUBLE!

On a scale of 1-10, how how shit a day will it be if both England and the Albion lose?

I'd say about 12.
