It's going to be a real slog trying to explain to all my non-Albion friends and family members just what the hell is going on with the stadium. I'm having trouble as it is!
They are all bound to say "oh but I heard on the radio that it had been turned down" and with a deep sigh i'll have to go into the whole bloody farce over and over again. I think i'm going to have to explain todays events for the rest of the year.
And I bet my Dad still won't understand.

agreed, tried to explain it 5 times already today and those are a majority who know about it!

what was the point in the Inquiry in the first place? Wasn't it to either decide to give the Albion a stadium at Falmer or not?

Tell them Prescott bottled making a decision and is hiding until after 26th September to make one.

You'll be telling them crap if you do. Yes, this was a "politician's" decision but one that is weighted so far in our favour that you have to be a very shortsighted Albion fan to carp about it. The bottom line for me is that the criteria Prescott has put forward to judge the sites are OUR criteria, not that of the Nimbys. That's why we are on the brink of victory.

I've actually just registered today as I wanted to see what it means to you lot.

I look at this site regularly as it is entertaining and carries some intelligent views - I support the club you like the least but can empathise as a long-standing football fan who went to the Goldstone a few times in the 1980s.

Without going into it completely - I understand that the process should now speed up and Falmer is still possible if the other options are ruled out?

I won't do the BR trick of posting piccies that will obviously not interest you at all.

Cheers.

I'm already sick of explaining it, and so after I've been down the pub, I will be making a cassette recording tonight explaining the whole thing. It will start out by sticking closely to the facts and covering the main points of todays events in detail, and will then rapidly descend into a slurred, abusive, foul-mouthed rant against NIMBYS, the planning appication process, and SCR.

This is the crux of it, isn't it? It's no doubt going to take forever, and cost f*** knows how much money, but we WILL win now, eventually. I think...

By the looks of it (and please correct me if I'm wrong), if it wasn't for Prescott we'd be dead. Both Inpsectors, Hoile and Collyer, said "NO" in the most unequivocal terms. I think all that pressure paid off, certainly I get the feeling that if we'd just trusted the Planning process we'd all be contemplating a firm 'NO' today.
