After the extended coverage...... of the goals on Meridian yesterday they showed a couple of little interviews with MgGhee, either side of one with Barry Fry. Fry was initially very complimentary about our away support, then started waxing lyrical about DK. How does Dick Knight do it was the theme - he's brought in Mickey Adams, Taylor, Coppell and now mark MgGhee. Whoever was doing the interview asked him "has he ever spoken to you" to which Fry replied "No - And I don't blame him" !!

Don't know if that was Steggall but if it was it made me laugh!!

Andy Steggle is actually a Brizzle City fan as he comes from there and his parents live near the ground ( I spoke to him a couple of years ago)

BTW he has a soft spot for Brighton and enjoys the banter, just so long as it isn't vitreollic, which unfortunately it was at Peterboro.

He's alright, at least he's not a Saints or Pompey supporter. He used to be a sports presenter on Southern Sound (now Southern FM) before going to Meridian.

He always takes all the abuse he gets very well.
As said before, at least hes not pompey or saints.
I think he is allright, at least he has a sense of humour. (he has to with a hair cut like that!)

Totally concur with that - I speak to AS very regularly and can confirm that of all the southern clubs he covers, he has a closer affiliation with Albion than any other.

Fred Dinage is not a legend. He's an absolute arse head.

With a tan more orange than David Dickinson's and criminally unfashionable 1970's tinted glasses.

My feeling on the Steggle thing is he's harmless, he enjoys the banter and seems to find it amusing as he knows like the most of us that it is all a bit of banter aimed at a local celebrity.

I think its refreshing for someone like that to acknowledge the songs etc.

What was hilarious was when at the swindon game when we won the div 2 championship he was trying to record a link but everyone kept singing andy steggle is a wanker whenever they started recording. he found it funny and responded with doing a fw sssssh towrds the crowd and havign a laugh.

It's probably who he works for rather than who he is as to why some have a go at him. Can't be bothered myself.

I always love it when he walks past, you can hear all the mummerings, 'look theres Steggall' suddenly followed with a chorus of 'andy stegall is a wanker, is a wanker', very funny.
And he laughs too, top man in my opinion.

I just think that he and Meridian's output is not very good.

When I do see it (often recorded as I can't be arsed to stay up until 1.00am in the morning, or I'm out on Sunday at 1.00pm) then the quality of the production is just awful.

They dedicate such a short period of time to it that the focus on your team lasts no more than 5 minutes. By the time you've gone through Gillingham, Bournemouth, Swindon, Oxford, Wycombe, Aberdeen and also had to listen to more stuff on Pompey and Saints, then there isn't much time left.

You look at the poor programmes that goes out on ITV some evenings (post 10.00pm news) and you have to wonder whether Celebrity Turnip Growing or Holidays in Hell revisited are really going to pull in the audiences or whether they could just run some decent local sport (and not just football.)
