"It's all set up for the final against Bristol City which should be a great occasion"

Excuse ME Mr King, you chain smoking twat, but I wouldn't be gobbing off just yet. Shall we wait until after the two play-off games until we start talking about finals. Cheers for the motivation, i'm sure McGhee will be posting those comments up on the dressing room wall.

Newbury, Berkshire.
We will have to be at the top of our game tho'. Sam Parkin & Tommy Mooney can be fairly prolific if not properly marshalled.

And I've no doubt Swindon will come out with all guns blazing from the off.

But I still remain quietly confident.

King better take his head out of the clouds and get real. That is the sort of statement you should make once you are actually in the final.

What he has done by showing us a complete lack of respect is motivate us for the games. I fancy us strongly to see of Swindon and our lads will love this.

Thanks Mr King !

What he actually said - stupid idiot, providing extra incentive for his opposition

Manager Andy King says Swindon should not fear anyone in the play-offs.
"We now have an equal chance of going futher. I certainly think we are as good as any of the teams in there," said King, whose team face Brighton.

"I think I have got a good draw. The Bristol City game is all set up for the final at the Millennium Stadium. It would be a magnificent occasion.

"My team is capable of beating anyone over two legs. I have always said that," the Robins boss added.

But this is similar to what Mark McGhee has said. He is glad we don't have to go to Hartlepool and thinks we are more than capable of beating Swindon.

You can't blame Andy King for saying that they would rather play Bristol City in the final. So would we!

Eh? You'd rather play Bristol City than Hartlepool in the final?

No, but I'd rather play BC in the final than the semi

Looks like a Brighton Vs Hartlepool final then...

King said his team were playing Premiership quality football earlier in the season, so I don't think either PR or reality are his strong points.

Swindon have 2 great strikers, a couple of decent wingers, but their defence is stuffed with lumbering great hoofers who turn like oil tankers, and a somewhat suspect keeper, so as long as you keep Mooney and Parking quiet, anyone has a chance against them.

King, however, is still a mighty twat.

I think his comments reflect a desire for a West Country derby in the final rather than anything negative about Brighton.

Even so, even Coppell said that King was maybe a little more vocal than he should be and it does rile people including fans.
