I once read a quote which said Andy Carroll doesn’t play football, more he inflicts football.

This is a lovely observation. It reminds me that one of all time favourite goals is actually a textbook header on Boxing Day at Peterborough by Richie Barker - a lovely cross and a bullet header expertly executed. It just looked so proper and professional at a time when our team was absolutely gubbins and is the sort of goal you're probably thinking of when you think of Andy Carroll.

Indeed.

That was a great goal. The whole move and finish was memorable for how unexpected it was.

As I said, I could be wrong, but I am sure I once read that long term injuries are an insurance pay out.

I can't help but wonder what the premiums would be like for the likes of Andy Carroll, with his history of long term injuries. Probably cheaper to just pay his wages........................
