An idea for raising funds

Got something to say or just want fewer pesky ads? Join us... 😊

We all know a lot of people can't afford £100 or more to donate to the club. So how about a central NSC fund whereby people can donate as little or as much as they like? This could then translate into a few seats named North Stand Chat.

Other fundraising events could contribute to this - raffle or the like at a meet-up for example. My idea of a forum for selling stuff with proceeds to the fund might help. I've got some old PC games that I would happily sell for a few quid into the fund - I'm sure most people have a few bits and bobs they want rid of but can't be arsed to put on EBay.

Whether you are pro or anti the board, the club obviously needs money big style. Every little we can do will help. We get an awful lot of pleasure from this club and we should be capable of raising a couple of thousand at least if we put our minds to it. This board is one of the best methods for pulling together several hundred supporters.

If enough people think this idea is a goer - I'm happy to set something up. A paypal account would be OK but the costs might mount up. Something with co-signatories might engender more trust.

What are people's views?

The other thing I can recommend if you can't afford £100 is the Heroes and Winners game.

It's only £2 a week and the prizes are FANTASTIC!

A chance to go on a Scouting trip, to travel to an away game on the team coach, seats in the Directors Box and lunch in the Directors lounge etc - plus lots of cash and tickets and stuff.

All you have to do is choose your two favourite ever Albion players and phone Trevor Watson on 01273 695400

is it just me or are we becoming expected to not only pay some of the highest ticket prices, but also just offer free hand outs to the club month after month after month, its been going on for years and its not like we're going to get anything back

sorry if it sounds so negative but we're being fleeced left right and centre and being made to feel guilty for not being generous enough . . . .imagine being treated like that by any other business

football . . . .a funny old game

Why do you say that? I think at the moment people are assesing the situation. Your idea certainly has some merit and eventually when everybody's had a chance to digest this some may wish to contribute. Others may decide to contribute what the club are asking and others may be wondering where the '40 Note' fund fits into all this.

zefarelly's comment and over 150 views with 3 replies. I would have expected more, even if it was loads of replies saying go with the 40 notes fund or something.

The 40 note fund may indeed be the way to go - my idea was more around raising a few quid at a time which is rather precluded by having to do a bank transfer. My main thought was that a centralised NSC fund could name a few seats rather than people sending £5 and £10 at a time to the club which will then be minus the cost of printing and posting a certificate.

I'm just thinking, If I shell out more, what differrence is it going to make ? I don't think I'm alone in my thinking either, and judging by the odd comment you get from other supporters the whole 'Brightons dire situation' is wearing a bit thin

Dick Knight wants to get down to the Brighton Centre, get Prescott out in the car park and sort this whole thing out once and for all. :lolol:

I'm not criticising your point of view - my concern is that it is shared by a large number of people. Doesn't make it wrong to think like that but won't help the club raise the money they seem to need either. There are only so many times you can keep asking for money and we seem to be reaching saturation point which doesn't bode well for the future.

I agree Great Cornholio,we really need a decision on Falmer, unfortunately I don't see a great deal of offers of support coming unless people see any future and any kind of return on their investment (even if thats just a psychological return) and the only way peoples confidence will go up is when a stadium gets a go ahead

I think most of our pips are squeaking already - no point squeezing me any harder, Dick! :jester:

How about an ebay for the albion campaign. I’m sure we’ve all got some stuff at home we don’t want. Why not put it up on ebay and donate the proceeds to the club?
