I imagine Crawley will have slightly bigger gates than 700 this season too...at least they damn well should do, given all the money they've spent.

About 1,500 I'd guess.

It's a bit rich of a Luton manager having a pop at other team's gates when their shit club was getting gates of barely 6,000 regularly when they were last in the top flight.

Hadn't thought of that. They were a tinpot club when they were at the top level, but now they think they're a big club because they're non-league.

Crawley got half decent crowds a few years ago when they were doing well, then they dropped off because of all the grief with the Majeeds and I think the locals got out of the habit. Now they've signed half the BSP's top players, they must have a really good chance of achieving something this season, so you'd hope for their sake that the fans would back the club's investment by showing up.

I'm no lover of Crawley (if I want any club to win the BSP it would be York City), but it would be highly amusing to see them winding Luton right up this season.

Crawley should be getting 2,000 plus. Too expensive though for what is one of the poorer parts of Sussex.

It's not really one of the poorer parts though, Crawley has traditionally had some of the lowest unemployment in the country, because of its proximity to Gatwick (and London to some extent).

Yes, it has a few large estates, but I'm pretty sure the stats will show it's generally better off than (for example) Hastings, Littlehampton and parts of Brighton & Hove.

The longer Luton Town remain non-league the better, I have no desire ever to have to revisit that SHITHOLE.

This bit is somewhat strange, isn't it?

"I'm hearing they're going to make a six-figure bid. So, I presume we'll get a bid on 13 August for £100,001," Money continued.

"That's clever, isn't it? Unless the number starts with a nine, they can forget it."

How many figures/digits does he think there are in £100,000?

Not exactly. Apparently Crawley occupies just 2% of the land in West Sussex, but accounts for 37% of the business rate. Definitely Sussex's commercial hub. Considerably nicer than Luton too, especially on the east side. Pound Hill is no worse than any other suburb of a large town, and Goffs Park in Southgate is quite pleasant. Some of the estates (Broadfield, Bewbush, etc) are rather rough though.

I'm guessing he meant August 31st, as well...other than that, a great rant.

They should bid £9,999.99 - still six figures and contains the starting number he wants !
