:(

Hi All

I was looking in Wikipaedia at Falmer Stadium, and it refers to alternative usage including rugby (God forgive) and Hockey.

Whilst not at all anti rugby, I also know the problems and damage it tends to cause to decent pitches.

Does anyone know if rugby is an intended regular or occasional slot in for the Amex ?

Best

Alan

Not heard any mention of it and can't imagine it would happen as Gus has been very clear about pitch quality after some games this season so I can't imagine he'd want (not that it's entirely his call of course) ours being churned up.

I think the only rugby and hockey games likely to be held at the Amex will be of international tournament standard not regular league games.

Thanks for your replies.

I had just wondered if there were any connotations about it being the 'Community' stadium and am happy to think that there is no likeliehood of our , what will be, beautiful pitch being churned up.

I take this opportunity of saying how magnificent the playing surface is at the Withdean so congratulations to the ground staff.

I thought international hockey was played on artifical pitches?

All competitive hockey is played on artificial pitches, at least I've never played on grass and I've been playing for eight years (except in 7-aside tournaments which are usually just a piss-up).

Hi I have heard that our rugby club Brighton Blues and Hove Rfu 1st teams only at the moment are allowed to use the stadium for quater final and over Edf Vase cup games and if both sides go into the national 1 and above leagues then the consideration is to use the stadium like London Wasps and Wycombe Wanderers sharing adams park.

Over Gus's dead body.

There is absolutely no intention of ruining the pitch by sharing it with anyone.

Isn't that against league rules?
Don't we have to allow the opposition to use it?
