I like David Blaine. There I've said it.

I am wondering if anyone else in the UK likes David Blaine. There seems to be a " David Blaine is a tosser " campaign ignited by the press, media & tv.

All I can say is that he is an amazing magician who does things that noone else has even come close to copying. I like his endurance tests such as being buried in a coffin for 7 days, stand on a 35 feet pole for 3 days and frozen in time in a block of ice for 61 hours.

I find his new stunt, fascinating living in a perspex box for 44 days 50 feet above the ground with a blanket, pillow and scrap book for company drinking only water.

Even if there is something in the water, I don't believe there is, it is still a quite remarkable test of human endurance.

I am even planning to go up there in later weeks.

Am I the only one with anything good to say about this guy.

I will sit back and wait for the insults.

Sorry to add to this thread as i think this latest one is just stoopid, i hope it fucks him up.

I don't quite see the point on sitting in a box for 44 days, i could do that, i just don't want to, it would be well boring.

To make matters worse his voice is silly and he has a well fit girlfriend, i bet he's not magic between the sheets.

There is no way you could sit in that box for 44 days. Think about the lack of alcohol ?. :lolol:

And more to the point, no NSC.

For the record, I really enjoy watching his street magic.

Blaine is so good!

His simple card trick-TRICKS are the best tho. Faster hands than Billy the Kid

I don't dislike the fella, I just find this sort of "trick" tedious.

Give me his sleight of hand stuff on the streets and THAT'S entertaining. Some fella sat in a box for 6 weeks, pretending to live on just water?? That's gotta be more dull than Big Brother.

he's a good street magicain. but, is there really any need for this lastest stunt??

and, why would people wanna watch the related prog. i mean, aint it just gonna be him in this box?? seems a bit pointless.

I had a heated argument in the pub Saturday about this. The guy said when he stood on the pole he had supports up his legs also the lip balm he has contains some miraculous life saving properties and when he put the balm on his lips he could slip a hamburger is his mouth !. Also of course the water must have something in it !.

There is a lot of bollocks being spouted. He is a guy , slightly mad but who has amazing powers who is sitting in a box with only water for 44 days. Thats it, nothing more.

If anyone watches the live coverage it holds a strange fascination. You can end up watching it for 30 minutes without realising. Its weird.

Ive got nothing against him really but do agree this is a boring stunt although impressive. The street stuff he does is cool.

How anyone can watch it live though is beyond me, I manages about 2 minutes yesterday and thought what a load of Toss!

This stuff is just right for people like you GG, and just wrong for people like me. I think that's the simple answer.

He's a fakir, and I personally cannot relate as to how it is interesting. I could say "you'd have to be dumb to like that shyte" but your posts don't suggest you as dumb, and I used to go trainspotting when I was in school and I now cannot imagine why I did that. It does seem to be 'toss' .

It's not for everybody, and I can relate to the critics more than his fans .

The £5m being paid in TV rights would make it interesting, and that's the magic: he's being paid a fortune for doing absolutely nothing. Clever bloke.
