Have to say I was shocked at how ineffectual he was today. Never any chance he was going to make anything happen. By FAR the lamest of the lame in a seriously lame Orient side.

That lad that came on latedoors and hit the post was a country mile more effective.

Revell today:

He didn't have a great game, but then there was little support.

He's bagged himself 8 goals already, so can't be doing much wrong.

My father and I agreed that we made Orient look poor. It was pretty even in the first 20 minutes, then we settled down and played our game and didn't give them a sniff until we sat back.

Car wise, I think we hit 3rd gear. Lucky for Orient, we didn't hit fourth or fifth.

If Revell was bad (and he was) how CHRONIC was our favourite Orient striker of all time? :lolol:

Reminded me of an interesting discussion during the second half.

With, as you so aptly put it, our favourite Orient striker of all time subbed at half time- did he actually touch the ball in the game today? I don't recall the opportunity to boo him at all..

I think he touched it three or four times, max. I can't ever remember him having a worse game against us.

Forgot Revell was playing until near the end of the game he tyried to mix it with El Abd but just gave up, like he had been doing all game, giving up.

Cox was useless as well, it should be added.

Once nice crossfield ball, tidied up by the defence, and it was goodnight Vienna.

Revell was, is and will always be totally shite. Our standards this season show what it takes to be a success in this division, and prove every one of us who spent the last four or five years on nsc pointing out the likes of Revell, Cox and dozens more will never, ever be good enough for us. Shame on everyone who was prepared to accept them.

Revell and Cox can produce when now and again. They were useful, now and again, when we were treading water (and all we could afford) in League One.

You wrote off Ankergren, Poyet and countless others along the way to give some sort of balance.

.. and shame on those who were too blind to see the potential of our current squad and manager.

Orient fans are complaining that Slade bottled it by trying to play 4-5-1 but keep Revell and McGleish in the team so Revell was sacrificed too far out wide to be effective. It didn't sound like McGleish was playing!

There was one point listening on the radio when I was worried about 15 minutes in I think. The play was out wide and there was a tussle between Greer and Revell in the box which left Revs on his arse appealing for a penalty. I had a flashback to that moment of madness against Rochdale!!!!! Fortunately this time the lino and the ref ignored it.

It was different times and different budgets when we had to rely on Revell and Savage up front. But they at least ran about a bit and tried to make things happen. Revell today was shamefully ineffective. Never showed any signs of being even half-interested.

I suppose, but there were many who would never hear a bad word said about them. Fact is they are bottom-end third division dross and always have been.

On the other two points - Ankergren I wrote off very quickly mainly because my impression of him at Leeds wasn't great, so the Rochdale mistake was all the ammunition required. However, you'll find on here somewhere that I have confessed to being very wrong on that one already. I would actually go as far as saying Casper is one of my favourite two or three players now, and I've complimented him on nsc when others still share doubts. On Gus, I just waded in on nsc for the sake of being a twat, I've never doubted the bloke for a second in real life. He's obviously been a class act since day one. I know it's impossible to tell the difference between being wrong and on a wind up though!

I guess I was never really disappointed with Revell as it is plain to see his limitations, so anything other than the ordinary is a bonus. I said earlier this season that I wouldn't mind him being on the bench as I think he is a good battering ram if we are chasing a game and/or possession. However, that is not the case nowadays (or at least, not often), so...

Cox is a pain. He pisses me off. He could be so much better than he is.

Granted on your last point. I can generally tell when you are going overboard for the sake of being overboard. I was merely pulling those examples out for the sake of parity.

There is every chance (their fans expect it) that Orient will sell both Revell and Cox to higher placed clubs at a substantial profit during the current transfer window.
