Just a thought..... Celtic dont seem to have a barrow load of money to pay off Motherwell for McGee, or WBA for Mowbray. Not sure what contract McLeish has at Birmingham , but he seems a good man for the job , and has not been too commital to Birmingham since promotion.
Quite possible that Strachan made his decision months ago, and let his 'mates' know ! ...Its just another name

Souness is out of work, they could go for him. Celtic fans wouldnt want an ex-ger and Rangers fans would be going fuckin mental, although thats only because they realised letting him go for Paul LeGuen (SP) was a huge mistake. I think McLeish is a bluenose anyway.

Yea ok... i forget that religion is more important than footy !! And ive never really get my head around the fact that Strachan wasnt accepted by many Celtic fans because of his connections with Aberdeen. Im amazed he stayed at Celtic for so long

That was a marvellous Aberdeen side that Strachan, McLeish and McGhee were part of in the 1980s. Not surprised that their dominance over them (especially all those victories at Parkhead and Hampden) put Celtic fans' noses out of joint.

If you've read Septics fans forums over the last few years you would know the wasnt accepted by many of their fans coz he is a Proddie - simple as that!!

If you lived near where i am, you would hear them being called much worse than Septic

Larkhall, one of the most Orange towns in Britain, even the traffic lights get smashed for showing green ffs, and im not joking! several shops have had to change their signs from green to black or blue because they are fed up with them getting smashed, embarrassing really!

Half of the issue IMHO was that Strachan didn't play the right kind of football and also losing the league when both Rangers and Celtic were both trying to throw it away. Both sets of supporters believe they and only they have the right to win the title. And to be fair to Brighton Bluenose, Strachan was never accepted by a large swayth of the Parkhead faithful becase of his 'roots' whereas Martin O'Neil received God like status because of his 'roots'.

I would agree. My wife comes from Royston which is as Green as Larkhall is Orange. I often see kids as young as 6 sitting on the banks of the M8 as it snakes it was past Royston and these kids are waving tricolors and shouting very rude words at the Rangers buses coming in for homes games.

yeah theres a lot of people on both sides who have some serious growing up to do, trouble is its taught to kids at a very young age by parents who had it taught to them at a very young age.
