There's a letter in the Argus from a Roger Buckley complaining about Albion's number of coaches which he describes as an "extraordinary and indefensible extravangance".

He claims there are seven full-time coaches which he lists as Mark McGhee, Bob Booker, Dean White (reserve team coach), Martin Hinselwood (director of Football), Dean Wilkins (youth coach) and John Keeley (goalkeeper coach).

In my calculations thats only six. Even so, what would he want the club to axe? The youth set up, the reserve team, goalkeeping coaching, or maybe there should be no coach of the first team? Perhaps we shouldn't have a manager.

Another quality letter in the Argus.

What? You need to ask what we should do? :jester:

I thought it was obvious.

John Keeley can go straight away, a GK's job is pretty simple and no need of coaching.

Dean Wilkins can follow next, as why do we need any youth players? We can just splash out in the transfer window.

Hinsh is next on the list, only proper clubs need a director of football.

Dean White is on the way too, same reason as Deano.

And last but not least Bob Booker, he only does what MM tells him too anyway.

Who scouts the opposing teams? Sometimes, I think this is not done as thoroughly a it ought to be under Coppell and Micky Adams. I am not sure about MM. Sometimes, I think it is now done too much, but this may be because MM is over cautious?

I don't think too much information can be harmful.

Scouts perhaps?

Also MM and Bob Booker often go on scouting trips. Having read that piece in the Argus about the guy who won the chance to be a scout I think its done more than thouroughly going by the kind of questions Bob Booker was asking him about QPR. I'm presuming he asks a professional scout more in depth ones too.

I think it was Dean White and Dick Knight who went to a Bradford reserve game against Stoke last season to look at Iwelumo and spotted Paul Reid playing.

I think though that they were in the area & only went to the game to watch Michael Standing play. It wasnt a planned scouting mission.

Isnt that bloke Ken Cragg or Scragg still doing the organised scouting??

YES we shouldn’t have a manager Magoo is a waste of time, whereas Dean Wilkins has done a superb job for the club and should be promoted. As for Tinselwood drirector of w****** shouldve gone ages ago. Respect to Keeley he can stay so once get rid aforementioned no we woodnt have too many coaches
