Albion unveil £55m masterplan
Brighton and Hove Albion have unveiled a £55 million dream scheme to propel them into the Premier League.
It could see a four star hotel, a new fans’ car park and student accommodation*built near The Amex.
The ambitious scheme, which would create more than 200 new jobs, would bring in significant revenue and help the club to comply with new financial rules.
It would take the Albion’s total investment in the local area to more than £200 million - and bosses said the deal would increase the club's transfer budget.
Executive director Martin Perry, who designed and delivered the £120 million Amex stadium and is currently masterminding the £30 million new training facility in Lancing, said the project could place the Seagulls on a sound financial footing for years to come.
Politicians will discuss the plans for the first time next week, when they will be asked to enter negotiations with the club.
