Albion have moved to bolster their injury-hit strikeforce by signing Leroy Lita on loan from Swansea City.
Lita is available to make his debut in Saturday's game at Yeovil Town and will remain with the Seagulls until January 1.
Albion have been desperately trying to sign a striker after Leo Ulloa suffered a broken bone in his foot two weeks ago and were already in the market for another forward due to the long-term absence of Craig Mackial-Smith.
Lita, 28, has scored 100 goals in his career to date and Reading spent £1m on him in 2005 for a then club record.
He started his career at Bristol City and has also played for Charlton, Norwich and Middllesbrough.
Last season he had loan spells at Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday.
