Albion could be heading for a reunion with former manager Micky Adams in the FA Cup.
The Seagulls have been drawn away to Adams' Port Vale or Plymouth in the fourth round on January 25 or 26.
Vale host Plymouth in the third round at 3pm today.
Crawley have the incentive of a possible home tie against Manchester United if they get past Bristol Rovers in their delayed second round tie and then win at Birmingham.
United host Swansea in the fourth round today (4.30).
It is the second time in recent years that Crawley have been drawn against Man Utd.
In 2011 they lost 1-0 at Old Trafford in the fifth round.
