My ex-wife turned out her loft recently and presented me with my newspaper cuttings of the Albion from 1976/77 to 1981/2 plus the cup run of 1982/3.
Just been looking at them to remind myself of what was, for my generation, the golden era - promotion from the old 3rd to 1st division. Coming and going of Lawrenson, Ward and Horton etc.Taylor,Mullery and Bailey as managers. Remembering other players I had long forgotten about. Even found old ticket stubs from three of the 1983 cup games(Liverpool, S-F and final). Then came acros a sheet of song lyrics of the official song for the 1983 cup final "The Boys in the Old Brighton Blue".
Brought the memories flooding back.

What Albion mementos have other NSC users got stashed way?

I still have my 1983 FA Cup Final flag i bought from outside Wembley Stadium when i was 15 !
Still fairly good condition too.

I've got the BHACHS 25 years on handbook of stories,photos and memoribilia. Only members got it,and it was a fantastic piece of work.At the time it was only £5 a year to be a member.Now it is a tenner,and STILL the best £10 anybody interested in Albion history can spend.

I also have all the programmes,the video,several of the tickets,newspaper stories,the joy of singing Abide with Me and seeing the score at 1-0 on the stadium scoreboard,seeing Smith score and Robinson chickening out,and the delicious memory of bursting in to the front room at home after the 3rd round draw with Newcastle and saying "You won't see either of those teams going down Wembley Way".

And I was right,wasn't I ?

I know I've got a whole box load of stuff stashed away in my sister's loft. Stuff ranging from a shit load of 79/80 - 84/85 programmes, a signed ball, autographs, photos, scrapebooks, scarves, pendants, old shirts, a tacky signed FA cup cushion and a commemerrative 78/79 ceramic tile! probably looking to offload some / most of it when I come over next year.
