Albion’s inability to hold a lead cost them again as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw with play-off hopefuls Wolves at the Amex.
The Seagulls’ tendency to concede soon after scoring denied them a fourth successive home win.
Just four minutes after Bruno had opened the scoring with his third goal of the season, Wolves equalised when David Stockdale pushed Rajiv Van La Parra’s cross-shot into his own goal.
Both goals could have been put down to the goalkeepers as former Seagulls No.1 Tomasz Kuszczak will have been disappointed not to get to Bruno’s strike.
Albion have now conceded 15 times this season within ten minutes of scoring.
Chris Hughton made six changes for the game including handing a first start to Dale Stephens for 11 months.
Craig Mackail-Smith also returned to the starting line-up and he spurned a great chance to break the deadlock inside two minutes, heading tamely into Kuszczak’s arms from Beram Kayal’s cross.
Albion would have been behind but for a fabulous save and then a goalline clearance on nine minutes. Lewis Dunk’s slip let in Benik Afobe but Stockdale made a tremendous stop when the Wolves strike looked sure to score, then Gordon Greer cleared Bakary Sako’s follow up off the line.
Dunk had handled when slipping but referee Trevor Kettle waved play on before booking the Albion defender soon after. It was Dunk’s tenth yellow of the season which means he will be banned for the next two games against Millwall and Blackburn.
Mackail-Smith failed to take another decent opening on 16 minutes when he rolled a shot from ten yards past the far post, then Dale Stephens scuffed his effort wide from a Danny Holla free-kick.
Albion were grateful again to Stockdale on 27 minutes, as he finger-tipped Afobe’s shot inches wide of the far post following a through ball by Kortney Hause.
Mackail-Smith again failed to really test Kuszczak on 36 minutes before Wolves, enjoying a strong finish to the half, went close through Kevin McDonald’s shot from 20 yards.
The hosts thought they had gone ahead just before the hour-mark when Mackail-Smith tapped in after Kuszczak fumbled Teixeira’s shot but an offside flag denied the striker his first league goal since August.
Albion made the breakthrough with 20 minutes remaining as Calderon’s shot was blocked but Bruno drilled the rebound low into the far corner.
However, the lead lasted just four minutes as Rajiv Van La Parra’s cross-shot caught out Stockdale at his near post as the keeper pushed the effort into his own net.
Stockdale then denied Wolves a winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time as he kept out Sako’s goalbound strike.
Albion are seven points clear of the relegation zone after Wigan won at Rotherham. Millwall lost 2-0 at Bolton.
