Sorry to start yet another FIFA thread but this is worth knowing if you intend to buy just cos the Albion are in it.

From the PS2 version...

The club badge is the old one, six years out of date (annoying as it's flashed across the screen after each replay etc).

The club name in truncated on-screen ("Brigh" from what I remember).

The home kit is wrong. The stripes aren't equal widths. "Skint" is in light blue. There's no white block on the back. The lettering is wrong. Rubbish!

The away kit is red, from last season. D'oh!

The squad data is very inaccurate. No Rodger, for example. Mayo is down as a centre-back, if I recall correctly. You can change the line-up, of course, but then you're playing them out of their natural position (according to the game).

Player liknesses are vague to say the least - as others have noted on here, Oatway has long dark hair, Leon Knight is at least 5" 10'. As far as I can make out, there is no option to edit players (unlike PES3 where you can edit hair, height, foot, kit, badge etc).

The team name is not pronounced by the commentators - and nor are any of the player names (it's different for Premiership teams, of course).

If you set, say, Arsenal as your default team, the game is customised and shows the club shirt on the back of the menu screens (and Spurs as your default opponent). Pick a lower division club like the Albion and it merely shows the Nationwide badge (FWIW, we get Man Utd as default opponents). Tsk!

Premiership clubs get specific chants and songs. We get "Go West"...

Albion are rated one and a bit stars out of five - ie are shite.

Bottom line: you're going to buy it just for Albion, you're going to be VERY disappointed.

you would have thought that they'd do their research on this. personally, im not going to buy the game, coz it sounds like a pile of poo

Don't the makers of such games ask 'fans' of the respective clubs to provide the information for the game, in return for a free copy or something?

I'm sure I've heard this relating to another game, can't remember which though. Thing was, the person who was providing the info was not what you'd call the most knowledgeable Albion fan, therefore leaving it open to all manner of inaccuracies.

Did you really think they had the Nationwide in mind when they wrote the game? More to the point, if we were a Premiershite outfit would you give a f*** that some of Grimsby's player's positions were wrong or that the commentary couldn't pick up on each of their players?

It's an extra to attract a few more people to buy the game.

You may as well edit over a team in Pro Evo 3. You can give players commentary names then and make them look real. Not loads of names in but Knight, Rodger, Roberts, Hart, Watson I think.
