There are many indicators of the degree to which the club has developed over the last couple of decades or so, but I'm struggling to get my head around the fact that Albion have an astonishing 30 (yes, 30) players (across all age groups) on international duty this week.

Even that number doesn't include Samy Chouchane (who scored one goal in five appearances for the Tunisian U-20s at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations tournament earlier this month), the injured pair of Jakub Moder and Ruairi McConville (who would have been called up for the Polish senior squad and the Northern Ireland U-19s respectively if they had been fit) and the unfortunate, retired Enock Mwepu who would have been in the Zambian squad and probably captaining the side.

In addition, there are a handful of players who have already been capped this season who are not involved this time around. It all speaks to the amazing recruitment and player development that has been happening at the club now for many a season.

What a time to be an Albion fan.

But none of them senior England internationals.

I think that says something (about Southgate). Were it not for that fact that we have a world cup winner in our International pantheon I might call it coincidence. But....no, it's Southgate being a nob.

Incredible stuff! Do you have a list?

And also, welcome back AZ - your encyclopaedic knowledge of the youth teams and upcoming players has been missed

Do you have a complete list? (rhetorical question)

Incredible stuff! Do you have a list?

Oh come on you tease - you know we all opened this thread to see the full list!

Blimey, you're so demanding.

Players currently with the club, ie not out on loan (called up for the senior national side unless otherwise stated):

Facundo Buonanotte (Argentina)
Moises Caicedo (Ecuador)
Julio Enciso (Paraguay)
Pervis Estupinan (Ecuador)
Evan Ferguson (ROI)
Billy Gilmour (Scotland)
Tariq Lamptey (Ghana)*
Alexis Mac Allister (Argentina)
Tom McGill (Canada)
Kaoru Mitoma (Japan)
Robert Sanchez (Spain)
Jeremy Sarmiento (Ecuador)
Sebastian Ademola (Norway U-15)
Yasin Ayari (Sweden U-21)
Levi Colwill (England U-21)
Jack Hinshelwood (England U-18)
Andrew Moran (ROI U-21)
Casper Nilsson (Sweden U-21)
Mark O'Mahony (ROI U-19)
Cam Peupion (Australia U-23)
Jan Paul van Hecke (Netherlands U-21)

Players currently out on loan:

Simon Adingra (Ivory Coast)
Michal Karbownik (Poland)
Kacper Kozlowski (Poland)
Andi Zeqiri (Switzerland)**
James Beadle (England U-19)
James Furlong (ROI U-21)
Carl Rushworth (England U-21)
Kjell Scherpen (Netherlands U-21)
Abdallah Sima (Senegla U-23)
Ed Turns (Wales U-21)

* Presumably Tariq Lamptey will pull out of the squad through injury but I haven't seen that definitively confirmed anywhere yet
** Andi Zeqiri was subbed off early on during FC Basel's match yesterday with a foot injury so presumably his involvement this week will be in doubt

They still have 31 contracted professionals available (not to mention the scholars) so I think they'll be fine.
Good to have you back on the board AZ.
To complete the story is it possible to list those other 31 players, and indicate those who have received international recognition at any level?

What’s Scherpen doing in the Dutch U21 squad at age 23?

What’s Scherpen doing in the Dutch U21 squad at age 23?
The Netherlands qualified for the finals of the 2023 UEFA European U-21 Championship which will be held in Romania and Georgia in June/July. The qualifying date to participate is to have a birthday on or after January 1 2000, and Scherpen was born on January 23 2000.
