Chris Hughton insists the result matters more than putting on a show in his first home game as Albion manager.
The Seagulls face a quickfire return clash with FA Cup victims Brentford at the Amex on Saturday.
They have also won 1-0 at Charlton in the league under Hughton since then to ease their Championship relegation fears.
The former Norwich boss is likely to stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation used in both matches in an attempt to stretch Albion's unbeaten run to six games.
He told The Argus "The onus is generally very much on the team playing at home. Most Championship teams playing at home would probably think that.
"What we have got to do is what we have done in the last few games - what ever we feel is the right way to get a result.
“We are still in a position that we don't like and would like to be in a position in the league we are happy with. At this moment it's very much about just getting results and points.”
Brentford are on a revenge mission after Albion's 2-0 victory at Griffin Park 12 days ago, which clinched a moneyspinning fourth round tie at home to Arsenal on Sunday week.
Hughton said: “From their point of view, they played well enough against us to have won the game, so I think they will certainly want to impose themselves on us, but we have got to make the most of the fact that it's a home game for us.
“We are in good form as regards results at the moment and we've got take any positives we can from that game against them.”
