ALBION will exploit the loan market if they cannot close a couple more deals before the transfer window shuts.
Boss Chris Hughton still wants to add two attacking options to his squad.
They have several targets, including Feyenoord’s 22-year-old winger Elvis Manu.
“We’re still pushing and pushing hard. We don’t have a loan player so, come the second of September, I think we have between five days and a week and then the opportunity to bring in loan players.
“We know generally there are options because there will be clubs trying to do deals and get players out before the window closes that are not able to.”
Albion signed TEN players on loan last season but Hughton has kept his powder dry so far.
The Seagulls are interested in borrowing Watford frontman Matej Vydra, as reported by The Argus on Wednesday, and they are in a four-way race to land Manu which also includes the Premier League newcomers, Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting Lisbon.
Southend boss Phil Brown confirmed last night that Albion centre-half Glen Rea, 20, is on the brink of joining them on loan until the beginning of January
