Are we being strung along for a bit longer having read lots of comments on here and listened to Dick Knights interview I should be happy. However I still think we could get a kick in the bollocks.

I voted"OK but still apprehensive".I'd like to feel more positive but at the back of my mind there's a nagging suspicion that it will still all go tits-up

I reckon if JP had wanted to say no, he would have said it today...after all, what's the point in keeping us hanging on only to be refused planning permission in a couple of months time.

Lord B says it all with his email:clap2:

I feel he has bottled it , he has had all the information for months

He hasn't bottled it-he's being very canny-something which a lot of people seemingly fail to appreciate.

He gives an immediate "Yes"...we're staring a JR in the face, huge amounts of money tied up in more legal wranglings. He, instead, says "Go away, look at possible alternate sites again. Come back and explain why they are not suitable. If your case is good enough I'll have to let you build on that AONB which is soon to be de-classified as such. Once my decision is given-there are no grounds for a JR by the NIMBYs".

That's how I see a very astute, anti-NIMBY politician's verdict. He's helping us as much as he can whilst ensuring that there will be no future legal comebacks. I'm reasonably happy for now.

It's time to say an infatic YES Presscott, you've had long enough to f*** around. Shit, or get off the pot. I'm fed up now.
I feel for the regulars on here [I get to see a couple of games a year, If I'm lucky] Give us the bloody go ahead for christ's sake.

Lord C, please read again Bwians post immediatly above yours. It could not have stated the situation any better.

Obviously on the face of it we'd all have preferred an out-and-out YES this morning. But if the following day we'd had a judicial review slapped on top of it, putting us back at least a year, then that YES would have been worth jack shit.

The more I read on this, the happier I am at this response from the ODPM. We COULD have ended up with a multitude of "concerns" over the Falmer application, culminating in a NO. Instead, we've got a very specific, very succinct response asking ONE final, simple question to be cleared up once and for all -

"Out of all the sites, is Falmer the best site for the stadium ?"

My eight year old son could write a report dismissing the other sites as unsuitable, so if all we have to do is satisfy that question - and after that entire Inquiry, that IS the only question to have been levelled at us - then I think we've got it. Because once the other sites are dismissed, then there is only ONE ANSWER REMAINING.

This seems to be an unpleasant truth that the NIMBYS quaffing champagne today have completely ignored. Fools.
