still shouldn't have been fined but for once the FA would appear to have got something sort of correct

...and Bury?

Were they not hurled out of the FA Cup and fined?

But they are not a peoples club - different rules

I may be wrong, but I thought that Bury had already been given one warning (at the back end of last season) after fielding an inelligible player, and that they were thrown out of the cup because it was their second offense.

So in fact you could say that it's harsh on AFC that they never got a warning. But given that it happened for a load of games I suppose the offense is much worse, which seems fair.

we are talking about differing competitions here.

The FA Cup rules state that playing an inelligible player will result in being removed from the competition and possibly other financial penalties.

Leage rules aren't that clear. I dont think there is anything wrong in AFC getting some points deducted and a fine - it was the size of the deduction (double what chesterfield got for tearing up the whole rulebook) that was the concern.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Spare us the violins for AFC Wimbledon, if their showboater fans had backed the club by continuing to take the 20 min or so train trip to Sellhurst after they were relegated from the Prem, they would have raised the money to build or buy Plough Lane.

Its always the sob story, never what you hear from so many fans that they were let down by the boys who were only interested in the big games.

Hmmm, sounds familiar.

The AFC fans probably aren't those ones though are they? They're probably the ones that did stick with it. The others are probably supporting Chelsea now.

Spare us your bollocks. If you can't bothered to check out the facts concerning the affair and hammans double dealing and lying about the council and planning permission stfu.

AFCW have their fine increased but their points deduction reduced to only 3. AFAIC result. http://tinyurl.com/2vpqe2

I wonder why they have done this, and why now?

Maybe I'm just an old cynic, but were they fearing what they would have to do to West Ham as a result?

Could they now defend a decision to just "fine" West Ham, or maybe a single point deduction?

My mate who's an AFCW fan says there's a feeling of the FA wanting to do the right thing by them this time, redressing old wrongs etc. In which case we can only speculate as to what they might owe us from having sat on their collective hands for so long while Mssrs Belloti and Archer were in their pomp.

Automatic qualification for the Champions League a few years in a row? That might do it, cash wise anyway...

Based on having thrown Bury out of the cup, and AFCW out of the cup (well, Trophy), they still need to 'throw' West Ham out of the cup and make them give us the dosh. This only really sets the precedent for the league punishment

Do they though?
