ADSL 1MB - New info

Got something to say or just want fewer pesky ads? Join us... 😊

Don't know if this has been posted before but here goes anyway. The distance from the exchange that you need to be within to get 1MB ADSL has been increased in the last couple of days - this means that if you couldn't get 1MB before, you may now.

I've just put in an upgrade request - for an extra £3 a month I get twice the speed - hopefully. It might be worth checking with your ISP if you are interested.

I've got Rate Adaptive 1Mbit here - it adapts to share 1Mbit across down/up. Ususally I get around 850Kbits down and 150Kbits up.

However, it officially costs around 200 a month

I get it free however :lolol:

Only £3 - £5 a month. Say it helps with homework or something! :lolol: (Even if you aren't studying anymore - this always worked when getting parents to buy Spectrums or C64's)

Tried homework story and didn't work. Need to think

As a parent I'd go for the 'I'll pay the extra dad' option

You see I did that with the whole upgrading to BB in the first place and I ain't paying it. Perhaps if I promise with a pretty please on top.

If you was to succumb to your children what would they have to say??

Well, your dad probably wants to upgrade anyway. He'll no doubt conveniently forget your previous offer of payment if your mother has.

Father needs to convince mother of the cost benefits analysis on the upgrade. So if he can put forward the proposal that you'll pay extra ( he knows you won't) then he can convince the budget holder (your mum) of the worth of this investment at no cost.
