Micky Adams always got far too much credit in my opinion for the team that Peter Taylor took into the championship. It was about motivation and tactics that season and Adams is proving what I have always thought about him and that is he is average at best.

Got to disagree on that one. Micky built a team that could eat that division, having already won the championship the previous season as you know. Taylor's first game in charge was Swindon away. He tried to change the system and play a 3-5-2. It was shite, Swindon were shite, we should have walked it. Cullip was doing his crust and whacked Pethick round the ear, we looked a shambles.

Pound to a pinch of shite, Booker had a word in Taylor's shell like at half time and sure enough, 2nd half we reverted to a 4-4-2 and got a draw. From that day on, we played Micky's way with virtually Micky's team and the rest is history. Taylor was and still is a 2 bob manager unless he is with a Div 4 team.

By the way, no, I am not happy with Micky's team or performance this time round.

Absolute RUBBISH

Taylor's record

Played 34
Won 19
Drawn 11
Lost 4

Yes , you read that right 4 defeats in 34 league games.

taylors first game was oldham at home - 3-0 win. infact, i dont think we LOST a league game under taylor until wigan away in january. i think his record speaks for itself

micky may have built a team that could eat that division, but taylor added the finishing touches - the signing of junior lewis being the overwhelming example

Uncle Spielberg, you or I could have got the Albion promoted that season with the team we had. What was Taylors outstanding contibution?? Junior Lewis? I struggle to remember anyone else.

That is just nonsense.

Fair one Scotty, Swindon away must have been the first game I saw with Taylor in charge. Going back to the original start of the thread, I can't agree with it. I just don't rate Taylor (Leicester, Palace etc.)
