I see his contract not renewed at Millwall He also had short contracts at Hull Sunderland and I think Middlesburgh and none renewed. Seems to have been lucky to have 4 championship clubs give him a chance. Maybe will see him in Sussex non league club yet.

Boro was only a loan deal. He got a year at Hull but was released at the end of that year, probably not helped by Liam Rosenior being sacked at the end of the same season.

Sunderland took him on another 1 year deal, but he moved to Millwall after 6 months (they effectively took over the remainder of his contract). They’ve released him too.

He’s been in NYC recently and posted lots of photos from various bars, I hope he hasn’t fallen foul of his old problems as he had worked hard to recover and try to get his career back on track would be a shame if this set him back again. He could become the poster boy for too much too soon a career wise.

I’m not (Alex) Revelling in his struggles at all personally. Always wanted him to do well and get his head screwed on. He lost crucial development time when having his personal issues, and honestly hasn’t kicked on as many of us hoped. Aside from showing promise under Rosenior at Hull for a spell, he’s now has unsuccessful spells at Millwall, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Luton and Venezia and is once again a free agent.

He’s now 25 and has scored only 19 league goals, in 127 league appearances, a 1-in-7 man. His best ever season was a respectable 10 in 28 games for Hull in the Championship.

Compare Welbeck, hardly considered a prolific scorer, but a player who does considerably more in holding the ball up and building play for the team than a Connolly-type player. Welbeck has 79 goals in 368 league games (all but 8 games for Preston in the Championship) at the very highest level - which is a 1-in-5 ratio.

I think Aaron may seriously struggle for minutes next season at a Championship club, or even top League One sides.

I fear for him going forward. He desperately needs a good season as the above mentioned slide into local non-league is looking worryingly possible for him.

A promising career pissed up the wall. He's not the first, he won't be the last. I don't know his family background, but perhaps he just didn't have the guidance and support a young player needs to make the most of his talent.

Or I dunno. Maybe he's just a bit of a dickhead.

When he did get his head together he received bad advice as well, imo.

That said, it’s not too late to carve out some sort of career in the sport but he/his agent certainly needs to lower his expectations.

Are you saying he was on a jolly in NY during this season

We'll be having this conversation about Ferguson in a few years too sadly.

Not the same thing .. AT ALL.

From what we know, Ferguson's attitude is fine. He is not flashing the cash, getting fights in clubs, with Love Island dramas plastered all over social media, etc.

There have been reports of him having personal issues, rather than professional ones, which may have harmed his form and development.

Ferguson has stagnated for the time being, but Connolly has been on a downward spiral since that fantastic Spurs performance.

Ferguson will be a decent Championship striker at worst - but still has the potential to compete at the top.

His next door neighbours have their house on the market if any of the ultra high net worth quarter on NSC want to improve their source credentials

No. He was there during the play off semi finals. Millwall weren’t involved so his season was already over, their last game was May 3rd.
Which platform was he posting on? Curious which bars he was in.

Another Leon Knight.

Had all the ability in the world - but let his attitude and personal life get in the way of his development.

There's no coming back now. He'll end up in the Irish Premier League, if he's lucky.
Talking of which, is he alright? Not heard anything about him for a while, has he stopped using SM? (LK not Connolly)
