[Travel] A23 road closure

Hello
I have to drive to Heathrow tonight and drop a car between 8-9am as we have a hotel for tonight and fly at 6am Saturday morning.

I can only leave Brighton after work so about 6-6.30pm I really am not sure of the best route
I was thinking of A23 up to Bolney then up the A24 up to Crawley and then up to Reigate and join the M25
Or is the M23 expected to open soon, or how long does it take to just sit in it and go round with everyone else.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Sussex Police shut the motorway off both ways between junctions 10 and 11 this morning.

As of 2pm, the motorway remains closed. Workers are attempting to clear the floodwater and several pumps are being used to drain the road. The authorities have not said when they expect the motorway to reopen.

The further up the M25 you can get to LHR is a bonus IMO.
It's Friday night, so you have to make a choice and stick with it
