Surely the most overworked cliché in the lazy manager's phrasebook? Having just heard our very own Nathan describe Loftus Road thus – in this case, justifiably – I then heard Joe Jordan tell a QPR press conference journo that "Yeovil is a tough place to come!" No, really.

Trawl through any pre-match press conference in the league, and this phrase is absolutely guaranteed.

They're a great bunch of lads seems to be an obligatory phrase for any new signing commenting on his new team mates. Wouldn't it be refreshing if a new signing came out with they're a bunch of overpaid poofters or something equally honest (or non-pc).

Tough place to go to

Personally a Qatar world cup in the summer would be a tough place to go to!

Or Russia in the winter is a tough place to go to.

Playing in normal conditions on a carpet like pitch is pretty nice actually. Even against Barcelona! Yes they're a good team but tough? No they're just better than you!
