You book a plumber to do some work at your house.

He spends 2 hours at your house but you notice he spent 1 hour on NSC via his phone.

When he gives you a bill for 2 hours would you:

1) Pay for 2 hours, as that is how long he was at your house?
2) Pay him only for the time he was working?
3) Chat about Vicente for another hour and end up paying him for 3 hours?

I'd post on NSC that "if you're the plumber in my house at the moment you will only be paid for the time you worked"...

How did I miss the obvious (and best) 4th option?

If someone is charging per hour but he was using NSC, I would probably let him know I saw he spent an hour on it and see if he drops the bill at least in part out of the goodness of his heart. If he was using another clubs board, I would pay him for what he worked.

If he was paid for a deliverable and not by the hour then I would talk about Vicente

I note your avatar and if following your option 2) how many hours would a firefighter actually get paid for 'working' rather than 'being on duty', which might be slightly different.........?

Having said that I can't think of anything more important than hourly checks on NSC to help get through the working day (or night)!

Or you could mention NSC and get a discount maybe.
