Newcastle United is a huge club. 40-50,000 home crowds. They should be top ten every year with the odd top four. Yet it never happens.

He makes it clear that Potter wouldn't leave Brighton for there. And he is right that, given the squad investment, they have done marginally better.

The problem is expectations. At Brighton they are not so high.

Problem is it’s all a bit of nonsense comparing Bruce and Potter based on points won/final positions.

This is pretty much the same game that some have been playing on these boards for the last 2 seasons and all but the blind can see how much we have improved, Potter hasn’t out achieved Hughton, yet we are an immeasurably better side.

And, it's not really about us/Potter - he's just using us/Potter as a comparison for Bruce's performance at Newcastle.

Potter won't want to leave Albion to go to Newcastle but, as the chap said, given Newcastle's stature he SHOULD want to make a move like that in order to progress his career.
