Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending a decent gig full of nostalgia in Toronto (well, Mississauga to be precise). Main support was the first performance in Canada by Blancmange for 39 years, and jolly good fun it was too. Then the main act was Midge Ure doing mostly Ultravox stuff, some Visage and a couple of solo numbers. It was a bit odd as it was held in a bowling alley with the stage set up across some of the lanes, so the view wasn't great unless you were in the VIP section at the front, which I wasn't, but it was all in aid of charity and the sound was good so I don't think anyone was too bothered.

Great effort by the host, promoter, bowling impresario, charity stalwart and all-round nice guy, Ed Sousa, who also happens to be an Albion fan. Well done, Ed, great job as always.

Lousy videos but the sound isn't as bad.

A dollop of Blancmange:

And a trip to Vienna (you may even just about spot Midge):

The Rec Room, Streetsville Bowl or Classic Bowl?

Believe it or not I've spent some time traveling with my brother who is one of the best amateur bowlers in NW Indiana. One time I was in charge of finding a bowling alley in GTA (Greater Toronto Area) that he had entered a tournament. I looked at my notes for Mississauga and those are the 3 bowling alleys I had researched.
