One of the arrests was a mate of my nephew who I took with me to Cardiff.

Basically he got some stick from some Bristol fans as he walked into a pub,

"f***ing queers, blah blah" etc

They made a couple of further comments in my nephew's direction. My nephew went to leave it but his mate was angry ..
"Come on then ..." and he pulled his t-shirt off in an act of bravado, and at this point the old bill nicked him.

He missed the game, spending the afternoon in the clink. Charges were brought but subsequently dropped, because basically he'd done nothing wrong.

Times that by 6 and you still don't really have a great deal of trouble do you. Sometimes the police never learn and make a scene out of nothing. Step in, move people along that's all it takes sometimes.

Arrest statistics can be VERY misleading.

That article started off by saying that Brighton supporters were the best in the country.

We had not had one arrest all season last year.

As Timseagull rightly pointed out, the 6 arrested at Cardiff had not been to Withdean during the season.

Got caught up in a load of agro leaving cardiff from City fans who were for some reason laughing at us!? We ended up getting abused by a 12 year old girl who looked like she was the product of a sheep fornicated by her father on a VERY BAD DAY!

Trouble is, it got us giggling and then the parents got arsey. They kept calling us queers blah blah blah, but we just kept saying one line in rerturn "we won!"

On the way back, we were caught in loads of traffic, and when we were stationary, i always seemed to be next to a car or lorry of brizzle fans. I couldnt help laughing, being on cloud 9 after the result! the amount of abuse we got, but in return i simply held one finger up on one hand and no fingers on the other hand, with a very cheesy grin. That just seemed to piss them off more, but luckily the traffic started to move.
